Amout Me

Hello, I'm Anna, a health obsessed Herbalist and nature lover. Why am I writing this blog? Because I'm passionate about health and well being and want to share my knowledge freely.

My journey into the world of wellness began in my mid-twenties when I turned my back on my carefree lifestyle and made the bold decision to go back to uni. Four years later, armed with a wealth of knowledge and a BSc in Herbal Medicine, there was no stopping me. I was thirsty for knowledge- how could I become even healthier? What secrets did I not yet know? What was the latest supplement promising eternal youth or increased vitality?

Living in London just didn't fit in with my health philosophy anymore. Polluted air, fluoridated water, noise, stress, dirt. So I  moved to a small coastal village in central Italy. Cue fresh sea air, tap water straight from the mountains and organic food with 0km, plus a healthy dose of vitamin D. La dolce vita.....

A few things you didn't know about me:

I live here with my wonderful Italian boyfriend, Luca and my cute Italian cat, Baraka (an Arabic word meaning blessing). Together, we aim to make the world a more beautiful place by living in harmony with each other and with nature and respecting every living thing.

I'm a great believer in food as medicine. I look to the diet before prescribing herbs as any medicine whether pharmaceutical or natural will not bring the desired results if the diet is not corrected. What do I eat? I don't like labels but I basically eat as whole and natural as possible. I loosely follow the 'paleo/primal/caveman/ Weston Price' diet ; I'm on a steep learning curve and have made a few mistakes, such as losing a few prized kilos after cutting out the carbs and not upping my fat intake, but I can honestly say I've never felt better.

I believe in magic! As Roald Dahl said "Those that don't believe in magic will never find it." Life is a magnificent journey and if we care to open our eyes and look at the incredible beauty around us, we cannot fail to see magic in even the smallest of things.

Travel is imperative to my happiness and well-being. I see it as my duty in  life to explore as much a I can of our beautiful planet- it enriches my soul.

I choose my thoughts carefully. If people genuinely realised how powerful their thoughts could be, I doubt they'd ever waste their time thinking bad ones. Negative thoughts lead to illness in the body, of that I am certain. Countless hours studying psychoneuroimmunology/ mind-body medicine has confirmed this for me. All the exercise in the world and the most fantastic diet will do nothing for you if you harbour feelings of bitterness or resentment or constantly think dark thoughts....

My philosophy in life is simple. Eat natural foods as our ancient ancestors would have done. Drink good quality, un-fluoridated tap water. Do unto others as you would have them do to you. Count your blessings daily. Smile, it brightens the world. Say please and thank you. Think pure thoughts. Talk less and listen more. Laugh, play, do things that make you joyous. Know that we are all inter-connected; what happens on the other side of the world also affects you.

This blog is not a manifesto- I am constantly learning and evolving and appreciate your feedback! I'd like to share my health tips with you, which are all from personal experience, trial and error. People always ask me "but how come you're never ill?" or "how do you eat so much but remain so slim?" etc, so I decided to start compiling some of my knowledge and hopefully it may benefit some of you.

Thank you all for taking the time to read this. Wishing you health, wealth and happiness....

  1. Many beautiful thoughts. The number of people who love nature is insufficient. Thank you very much. I request you to spread your thoughts and services all over the world.
